College at this point.

Hello from college everyone!!! Rock Springs is still a windy, rocky, barren, land of nothing. But I'm here now. So it's a windy, rocky, barren, land of me. Which isn't an improvement. So far college is a lot like high school. We started off orientation day with an assembly. It was just the incoming freshmen and new students, so we all fit into the theater. It was like every other assembly I'd ever seen. With student government skits and everything. They were sort of like "Here is college and here is what we want to tell you" skits. Which in high school is like "the bathrooms are here" and "don't worry, you *will* make friends." But in college it's like "Avoid date rape" and "Don't get an STD!" It was really...special. After that was done, we disperssed. We went to different classrooms depending on whatever color a sticker on your bag was. Mine was orange. So I went to the orange room. And there were two teachers in there. And they talked. Which was like high school when the counseling office comes into your english class and asks you what you want to do with your life and then they tell you what their 'hopes and dreams' for you are and you play stupid games. Yeah. We even played that game where they stick a famous person's name on your back and you have to ask questions to figure out who you are. I was Johnny Depp. I know. Awesome. Sort of. We played games from ten twenty till twelve twenty. It was a little to much inspirational modivation for me. I started tuning them out. Hmmm...i'm tired...and it's midnight. And I have class at eight. And auditions...so...night!

Burning city of FIRE!!! And God bless it.

Okay. St. George isn't currently burning and on fire. But this one time I was here, it was. There was a circle of burning wildfires all around the valley. And do you know why? Because it was so freaking hot. Like, seriously. The bushes and shrubs couldn't take it, so they just burst into flames. This is no laughing matter friends. It's hot. Outside that is. Everywhere else it's freezing! Every store has the AC up to full blast. We went to Iron Man this afternoon-awesome by the way-and I was freezing.

Can I just say how much I love the Olympics. Watching good, hardworking, American athletes representing our country to the world just makes me so proud to live in this wonderful, God-blessed country! As Rob pointed out on Tuesday, we are so lucky to be born here. Especially as members of the church. To be *born* LDS is an amazing thing, but to be born LDS in America is even more amazing. The freedoms and liberties we enjoy here can hardly be recognized by us, but those who look at us from other parts of the world can fully appreciate it.

Talking about America makes me think of politics. Which makes me thing of the Presidental race. Which makes me want to make a poll. Look for it on the sidebar. over there =>>>>

P.S. Leave your opinions and comments on the poll in comments on this post! I'm *VERY* interested.

I hate my birthday. That's right.

I hate it. It's so embarrassing! People sing to you and give you gifts and make a big deal over you and all you was be...get...born! *Everyone* does that. Everyone. So why should I even have a party?
It's just a bad idea.
And what if no one even comes? What if everyone comes and they think it's stupid? What if no one even has fun at all? See? So many things could go wrong!! What if everything does go wrong?
I'm not even that cool anyways. No one will want to come.

Oh no. I just sent the facebook invitations.
This isn't going to be good.

Baby sitting!

Well. I think I should be grateful for my summer. And I'm going to be. I get to see Rob every day! Which is really the best part of my day. He doesn't know this, but I'm bringing him orange chickens from Panda for lunch. See? Summer isn't bad. It's a good thing.

So I went babysitting yesterday. And it was super funny... The four kids, who's names will be changes only because I think the mother would appreciate it, were very cute. Here are their stats and a basic outline of them.

  • John -10? Not sure...sometimes he acted like he was three. But I'm sure he's nice to his mom.
  • Iris -7. This I know because that is how long she had to stay in time out. She kicked her brother (John) for taking her toy. I don't think I punished him. Maybe if I had I would know how old he is.
  • James -4. I asked him while he was telling me stories. He really is my favorite. He would sit on the counter and when I asked him what he was doing he said "Nothing. I'm just sad." He never gave a reason for being sad, he just was. It was so cute. And I got him to do things by using peer pressure. "Do you want to brush your teeth?" "No." "But all the cool kids are doing it! Do you want to be cool?" "Yes!" "So let's brush your teeth!" "Okay!" He totally forgot that he didn't want to do it in the first place.
  • Luke -I'm not sure... When I asked him how old he was he said yellow...my guess is two. He just walked around and talked non-sense to himself. And when it was time for bed, all I had to do was put him in pajama's and tuck him in. And he stayed in bed without a fuss. It was beautiful. And adorable.

All in all, it was one of the better times I had baby sat. John is usually a terror. And during the day, he was. And getting him to bed took some lying. James was scared, so he sat by me in the hallway and read me stories until mom and dad got home, and John thought that if he pretended to be scared, he could stay up too. So I told him that if he stayed on his pillow for ten minutes, and was still scared, he could get up. Well, suddenly one minute turned to ten on my watch. "Emily, how long have I been here?" "Two minutes. Lay back down." Actual time elapsed: 5 minutes. "Emily, can I get up yet?" "It's only been five minutes." Actual time elapsed: 15 minutes. Now, lying to children isn't very nice, but he fell asleep after that. So I don't even feel bad.

Iris on the other hand didn't want to stay in bed at all. And after I told her not to leave her room again, she started finding creative ways to get off her bed. Like putting her pillow on the floor---when she thought I wasn't looking---and falling off her bed on to the pillow. I think she was trying to make me thing she had rolled off in her sleep. It didn't work, but it was really funny to watch. Really funny.

That's all the stories I can think of at the moment and I need to dry my hair so I can take said orange chickens to a certain someone!

Oh glum! Oh blah! Oh Summer of Death!

Well. My summer has amounted to a big heaping bowl of nothing.

wahoo.

I went to California the first week and it was *very, very* fun.

Pluto and I created the perfect Disney Picture and the perfect Disney Princess Face. Right there. Disney Magic baby.

Bri and I saved a small village from that boulder. We were rewarded with gold. Lots of gold. We are now princesses in their culture.

There are more pictures, but I can't figure this picture thing out.

I haven't done anything fun since then. Actually, that is a lie. Rachel (sister), Rob and I went to Chuck E. Cheese and got ice cream last week and it was a lot of fun. maybe i can post a picture...

Definietly can't.

Well the three of us got four-hundred tickets because Rob is super good at games and got the bonus on two games! Holy cow. We got a lot of fun stuff.

and I'm watching Jon and Kate+8...so i'm going to go. Honestly, it's the best show ever. it's adorable. I just...can't handle how amazing it is.

Oh my heavenly days!!! Part II

This is a documentation of after Robert opened his mission call...

SO! Afterwards, Robert, Devin, Jason, Kim, Callan, Deba, Alexis, Cameron, and myself decided we'd go up in the canyon and roast marshmellows! I was pretty excited! So Rob gave me his BYU sweatshirt and his Junior Mints blanket, we went to my house super fastly, and then we drove on up to a park in the canyon! We were not alone in our idea, for I saw some other Timp kids (track kids i think) dancing around a fire listening to Backstreet boys.

We walked around, looking for a camping spot for *ages*. It honestly took forever. We found a nicely seculded spot--it's nearest neighbors had their fire dulled to embers, but we were pretty sure they were making out...-- and we settled down. Well...some of us did. Devin and Jason ran off into the darkness together...we were uncomfortable. Just as Cameron and Callan were starting to put wood in the pit, the sprinklers turned on. And we ran...fast....

Finally we decided on the spot next to the track kids. We had pretty good background music.

So, as they (Cameron and Callan) were starting the fire, we stood and watched. They used newspaper to start it and then added the wood. (This sounds like stupid info, but it comes into play later.) As we watched the fire burn and get blown about by the wind, Jason decided to give us some wise words. "I'm going to make an analogy." he said, "The fire is a relationship, and the wind is a mission." I felt a little guilt trip coming; Rob and I had, of course, been holding hands. "Alright," started Jason, "So if the fire or a relationship is strong, the wind or a misson will only make it burn hotter. But, if it's weak, the wind will blow it out." Of couse, the way Jason said it made it hilarious. And everyone laughed and I appreciated it a lot. I thought we were about to get called out, but he was totally being the awesome Jason Rob is always telling me about.

Anyways.

While we were listening to Jason, I noticed that the little pieces of burnt newspaper would fly up as miniature fiery balls of doom, and to me who was wearing shorts, this was a bad thing. So I told them to stop using newspaper. And for a while it worked. But then the wind started blowning and the newspaper went with it. The only way thought of to get the newspaper to settle down was to put it in the fire! So a large section was balled up and put in. But not for long... The next thing we new, this ball of burning FLAME was flying through the air...TOWARDS ME!!!!!!!! It was like one of those ghosts on Mario Bro.'s, but made out of fire...and huge...and chasing ME!!! It was the scariest three seconds of my life. And Rob didn't even throw himself romantically infront of me declaring "Take me instead you fiery demon of death!!!" But what do you expect? ;)

Well. I'm being kicked of the computer. One of the many downsides of the computer being in mom and dad's room. If the want to sunday nap, I have to leave.
